ABC has canceled Roseanne. The network was quick to respond to Barr’s offensive tweet about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. Barr tweeted, “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = vj.” “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” read a statement from ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey. The comedian had apologized after the instant backlash she received and also said she was quitting Twitter.
America Ferrera is a mom. The Superstore star and her husband Ryan Piers Williams have welcomed a son. Ferrera announced the news on social media. “When 2 become 3…,” she captioned a shot of the newborn’s foot. “Welcome Sebastian Piers Williams – aka Baz!”
Morgan Freeman’s lawyers want CNN to issue a retraction and an apology for their story in which eight woman accuse the Oscar winner of sexual misconduct. In a ten page letter attorney Robert M. Schwartz called the story, “journalistic malpractice.” CNN hit back at the letter in statement. “CNN stands by its reporting and will respond forcefully to any attempt by Mr. Freeman or his representatives to intimidate us from covering this important public issue.”
