EMMY ROSSUM talks leaving SHAMELESS

Emmy Rossum opens up about her decision to leave Shameless in Shape magazine’s January/February 2019 issue. “I made 110 episodes playing the character of Fiona, and it’s been an incredible journey,” Rossum reflects. “I’ve learned a lot about myself as a person and as an actor. I want to leave the show while I still love it, and I know the door is open to come back if that feels right.” Rossum is looking forward to new things in her career. “The way I look at it is that the end of one thing is the beginning of something else,” she says.“I couldn’t be more thrilled to spend time writing, directing, and seeing what other characters I want to play. It’s both scary and wonderful.”

A federal judge dismissed Ashley Judd’s sexual harassment claim against movie producer Harvey Weinstein on Wednesday.  US District Judge Philip Gutierrez ruled that the sexual harassment part of Judd’s suit could not be upheld under California law but said she could proceed with a defamation claim. The Judge made it clear in his ruling that he was not determining weather the harassment occurred . Judd had accused Weinstein of defaming her in 1998 after she refused what she said were his sexual advances a year earlier.

Lady Gaga apologized for her 2013 collaboration with R.Kelly. “As a victim of sexual assault myself, I made both the song and the video at a dark time in my life, my intention was to create something extremely defiant and provocative because I was angry and still hadn’t processed the trauma that had occurred in my own life,” Lady Gaga said in a statement posted on social media. “I intend to remove this song off of iTunes and other streaming platforms and will not be working with him again,” she said. “I’m sorry, both for my poor judgment when I was young, and for not speaking out sooner.”
