The first full length trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlwald is here and it takes fans back to Hogwarts to meet young Dumbledore. The trailer shows Newt reunited with his American friends Tina, Queenie, and Jacob. We also meet some new characters like Zoe Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, Newts’ former Hogwarts classmate.
The trailer has also sparked a debate amongst fans of the Harry Potter universe. Social media was full of fans pointing out that the very first scene of the new trailer seemed to have a huge error. A group of wizards and witches seem to be apparating inside the grounds of Hogwarts. J.K. Rowling made it extremely clear throughout the seven-book Harry Potter series that Hogwarts was blocked from apparition.
However, The Crimes of Grindelwald takes place in 1927 before Dumbledore was headmaster. He was still Hogwarts’ transfiguration professor so the school may have been bound by different magical laws.
