GEORGE WENDT best known for his role on CHEERS has died at age 76

George Wendt best known for his role of Norm Peterson on Cheers has died at the age of 76. Wendt died peacefully in his sleep at home, his family confirmed early Tuesday morning. “George was a doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him,” a rep for Wendt said in a statement. “He will be missed forever.” He was nominated for an Emmy for six consecutive years for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a comedy series for his iconic role of Norm.
