UCP is developing a reboot of Punky Brewster, with Soleil Moon Frye reprising her role from the1980s sitcom. Frye will also serve as an executive producer. In the reboot, Punky is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self. Punky Brewster originally aired on NBC from 1984-1986.
