Jimmy Kimmel talks Oscars

Jimmy Kimmel revealed the original plan for the ending of the 89th Academy Awards during Monday night’s monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He said the plan had been for him to end the Oscars in the audience , seated next to Matt Damon. “We’re sitting there and we notice some commotion going on, ” Kimmel said. “And Matt says, ‘I think I heard the stage manager say they got the winner wrong.’… So you just kind of figure well, the host will go onstage and clear this up. And then I remember, oh I’m the host.”

Patricia Arquette told Entertainment Tonight that she was disappointed that her sister, Alexis Arquette was not included in the In Memoriam video at the Oscars. “Alexis was a great actor, and had 70 credits, and was really brave to live her truth as a trans woman, and they didn’t include her in the memorial. I think that was a real slight to the trans community, especially at this time when trans kids can’t even go to the bathroom in the United States of America at school. It says a lot about the lack of inclusion – trans kids can really never look at anyone and see their heroes, and think that was a big mistake.”

Emma Watson told Vanity Fair that she no longer takes selfies with fans outside of premieres and red carpet events and she has a good reason. “If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within tow seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 meters. They can see what I’m waring and who I’m with, i just can’t give that tracking data,” Watson explained.
