Katy Perry will host the 2017 MTV VMAs. Perry announced the news by tweeting a video captioned, “Introducing your MOONWOMAN. Brace for impact! August 27th on @MTV @VMAs.” Perry is also one of the most-nominated artists this year with five nominations. This will be her first time hosting the VMAs and she also set to perform at the show.
Justin Bieber hit a paparazzo with his truck on Wednesday night after leaving City Church in Beverly Hills. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. According to witnesses Bieber got out of his truck to check to see if the paparazzo was ok. He also called 911 and stayed with him until the police came and was released from the the scene without citation.
Rod Stewart came to the aid of a group of parents of children with disabilities. The group from Louisiana went to Washington to protest proposed cuts in Medicaid. The trip cost $30,000 and they’d raised only $7,000. Stewart saw a story on CNN about the families and was so touched he wanted to help. His team contacted the co-founders of the the group Trach Mommas of Louisiana and wrote them a check that covered the remaining cost of the trip. The Forever Young singer closed his Tuesday night concert in New Jersey with a video tribute to the families who took the road trip.
