Kim Kardashian is back at the White House. The reality star was there to attend a meeting on prison reform. Kardashian revealed on Wednesday during an appearance on the Wrongful Conviction podcast that she has been working with Chris Young, who was sentenced to life in prison for marijuana and cocaine possession after being arrested in 2010. “It’s so unfair. He’s 30 years old. He’s been in for almost 10 years,” she said. She also revealed that she talks regularly with Jared Kushner, whom she called “passionate” about changing sentencing laws.
Rapper Vanilla Ice was one of the unlucky people on board an Emirates flight from Dubai that was quarantined for hours at JFK Airport on Wednesday. 100 people complained about feeling ill on board the plane. The rapper posted on Twitter about the incident. He shared a video from the window of the plane captioned, “So I just landed from Dubai and now there is like tons of ambulances and fire trucks and police all over the place.” Ultimately 19 people were deemed sick and 10 were hospitalize and nine “refused medical attention.”
Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop has settled a consumer protection action brought against them by the California Food, Drug, and Medical Device Task Force. Goop agreed to pay $145,000 in civil penalties for “unsubstantiated claims” about three of its products including its vaginal eggs. Goop issued a statement about the case. Saying that the company “believes there is an honest disagreement” when it comes to the product claims, but it wanted “to settle this matter quickly and amicably.” It also said they would be “happy to fully refund” customers who bought the products.
