La La Land wins big at the Golden Globes

La La Land took home seven awards at the 74th Golden Globes. The musical won all seven categories it was nominated for breaking the record for most wins by a film at the Golden Globes. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone both won top prizes for their roles in the film. It also picked up Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Picture. Justin Hurwitz’s win for Best Score and the win for City of Stars as the Best Original Song topped off the winning night.

Meryl Streep was presented with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2017 Golden Globes on Sunday night. The iconic actress took the opportunity to talk about when Trump made fun of a disabled New York Times reporter. “It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I can’t get it our of my head, because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life” Streep said. Trump was quick to fire back on Twitter calling Streep, “the most over-rated actress in Hollywood.”

French police have arrested 16 suspects believed to have been involved in Kim Kardashian’s robbery in Paris last October during Fashion Week. According to reports the arrests were in part thanks to DNA traces left behind. The robbers held the reality star at gunpoint and got away with almost $11 million worth of jewelry. Kardashian only recently stepped back into the spotlight after a long break from the public eye following the ordeal.
