Natalie Portman weighs in on the gender pay gap

Natalie Portman revealed to Marie Claire UK that her costar Ashton Kutcher was paid three times more than her for the 2011 film No Strings Attached. “I wasn’t as pissed as I should have been. I mean, we get paid a lot so it’s hard to complain, but the disparity is crazy,” Portman said. “Compared to men, in most professions, women make 80 cents to the dollar. In Hollywood, we are making 30 cents to the dollar,” Portman added.

Lucasfilm announced Wednesday that Woody Harrelson is headed to the galaxy far, far away. The Cheers star has joined the cast for the upcoming young Han Solo Star Wars movie. His role was not revealed. The film is scheduled for release in 2018.

According to Page Six Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix “found love on the set” of their upcoming film Mary Magdalene, which was filmed in Italy last year. The couple have reportedly been spending a lot of time together. However a representative for Joaquin has insisted that the two are just good friends.
