Selena Gomez is taking time off . “As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus. i’ve discovered that anxiety,panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges,” the singer told PEOPLE in a statement. “I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off.” Gomez is currently in the middle of her world tour, with shows scheduled thru December. It is unclear if these shows will be canceled.

Chris Brown is the subject of a felony assault investigation with a deadly weapon after a woman called 911 and claimed the singer threatened her with a gun. The call came in around 3 am from the victim outside of the house. Brown did not immediately cooperate with the police refusing to leave his home and posting messages declaring his innocence to social media. Police have served a search warrant and the singer has left his home after an hours long standoff. Brown could face up to three years in state prison if the LAPD can prove that Brown had a firearm.

Matthew McConaughey stopped by the classroom last week in Austin. Professor McConaughey helped lead a lecture for the, Advanced Producing: Script to Screen class. The Moody College of Communication tweeted a photo of the actor speaking at the front of the classroom.
