Ellen DeGeneres returned to the studio for the premiere of her talk show on Monday. In her opening monologue she addressed allegations of a toxic work environment . “As you may have heard, this summer there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show and then there was an investigation. I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people that were affected. I know that I am in a position of privilege and power and with that comes responsibility and I take responsibility for what happens at my show,” DeGeneres said.
Zendaya made history with her Emmy win for Euphoria. She became the youngest Emmy winner for best lead actress in a drama for her role as Rue on HBO’s hit show. “It’s…I mean, beyond,” said Zendaya, who was visibly shocked by her win. “I don’t even know how to describe how I feel right now. I’m incredibly grateful and honored.” She added, “I mean, just to have my family here, and that love and that support in this room meant so much to me — to be able to share this moment with all of them.”
Giuliana Rancic and Vivica A. Fox were both absent Sunday night from E!’s Emmy preshow. Both women tested positive for COVID-19. Rancic revealed in a video that her husband and son also tested positive. Fox said in a statement that she had tested positive and was isolating at home. Brad Goreski and Nina Parker filled in for the pair.
