KATY PERRY announces her DEPARTURE from AMERICAN IDOL

Katy Perry announced on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that season 22 of American Idol will be her last. Perry said, “I mean, I love ‘Idol’ so much.” She continued, “It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse to my own beat.” Kimmel asked how her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie took the news, and Katy replied, “Well, they’ll find out tonight! “ Perry added, “I love the show so much, but I wanna go and see the world and maybe bring new music.”

Russell Simmons is being sued for allegedly raping a former DefJam Recording Executive in the late 90’s. The woman who is identified only as Jane Doe claims that Simmons pinned her down and raped her in his apartment. She says her career was stalled by Simmons’ systematic harassment of her. She resigned in 1997 shortly following the incident. Simmons previously faced a lawsuit for an alleged rape in 2018 before it was dismissed in 2020. He also has been accused of sexual misconduct by at least 20 women. Simmons has “vehemently” denied all those claims.

HENRY CAVILL is not a fan of SEX SCENES

Henry Cavill is “not a fan” of on-screen sex scenes. The Superman star explained during his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he felt that they can be “a bit of a cop-out.” “I think there are circumstances where a sex scene actually is beneficial to a movie rather than just the audience,” Cavill said. He added, “I think sometimes they’re overused these days and it’s when you have a sense that you’re going ‘Is this really necessary or is it people just with less clothing on?’” 

Mariah Carey is set to begin a residency in Las Vegas. The pop superstar will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her album The Emancipation of Mimi. “Vegas, I’m coming back to town with a new show!!,” Carey announced on social media. This will be Carey’s third residency in Las Vegas. She will perform April 12th-27th at Dolby Live at Park MGM!.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be back for season 2 on Disney+. Disney announced the pickup during its quarterly earnings call Wednesday, a week after the show’s first season concluded. Season two will be based on the second of Rick Riordan’s book in the series, The Sea of Monsters.

TAYLOR SWIFT made HISTORY at the GRAMMYS

Taylor Swift took home what many believe to be the most coveted award at the Grammys on Sunday night. Swift won album of the year for her album “Midnights.” She is now the artist with the most wins in the category at four. Prior to Sunday’s win she was tied with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon at three wins. She won album of the year in 2009 for “Fearless,” 2015 for “1989” and 2021 for “Folklore.”

Miley Cyrus also had a big night at the Grammys on Sunday. Cyrus won her first Grammy award. She took home the best pop solo performance for her 2023 hit Flowers. When she hit the stage at the award ceremony after her big win she changed the lyrics to celebrate. Singing,“started to cry but then remembered…I just won my first Grammy!” Flowers has spent 37 weeks at Number 1 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. 

Kandi Burruss announced that she is not returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. “I’m not really keeping up right now,” she told Variety on the Grammy red carpet, when asked about the show. “I decided I’m not coming back this year. It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things.”

TOP CHEF All Star Winner MELISSA KING at SUNDANCE

Top Chef All Star Winner MELISSA KING partnered with Chase Sapphire at Sundance for the Chase Sapphire Lounge on Main Street. The Lounge provides a place for festival goers to take a break and relax during the hectic day. Along with some delicious food provided by King the lounge had unique experiences every day. They also hosted film makers throughout the festival to celebrate film and fans. 

ANTHONY ANDERSON was INJURED on set of NEW MOVIE

Anthony Anderson revealed that he was injured on the set of his upcoming movie G20 whlie filming in Cape Town, South Africa. “I spent the night in the emergency room. Movie set fight gone wrong.,” The Blackish star wrote on social media. “Me against two goons and a chair! Guess who didn’t win! Who needs a stuntman? Me that’s who! I’m not as young as I used to be! CT scan and X-rays showed nothing fractured or broken in my back just a deep contusion. That chair will never be the same though! Bloodied and bowed but never broken!

  • Kyle Richards gave Page Six an update on her friendship with Morgan Wade. Rumors of a falling out started after Wade deleted almost every photo of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star from her Instagram account. “We’re all good,” she said. “She’s got new [music] coming out,” Richards continued. “It’s very common for artists to do that. That didn’t mean anything.”

 

DEMI MOORE gives update on BRUCE WILLIS

Demi Moore spoke about her ex-husband Bruce Willis’ battle with dementia. “I think, given the givens, he’s doing very well,” Moore said on Good Morning America. “What I’ll say is what I say to my children, which is it’s important to just meet them where they’re at and not hold onto what isn’t,” she added. “Because there’s great beauty and sweetness and loving and joy out of that.” Moore and Willis divorced in 2000 after 13 years of marriage. The two remained close while supporting their three daughters together. 

Ted Danson discouraged fans to hope for a Cheers reunion after he appeared on stage with some of his former cast members at the Emmy Awards. “Well, you know, it’s interesting,”Danson told Entertainment Tonight. “I’ve seen them recently, everybody, pretty much everybody.” He went on to shoot the idea of a reunion down saying that while the reunion at the Emmys was “really fun,” the former co-stars weren’t planning to be on set together again. Danson said a “bunch of older folks” with differing opinions would not bode well.

Alec Baldwin pled not guilty to an involuntary manslaughter charge stemming from the 2021 shooting of Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust. According to court documents Baldwin was set to appear remotely in a New Mexico court on Thursday but waived his right to an arraignment. He has been released on his own recognizance. As part of the conditions of his release, Baldwin must obey all laws; not possess any firearms or dangerous weapons; not consume alcohol or illegal substances and avoid contact with anyone who may testify in the case.

JAY LENO filed for a CONSERVATORSHIP over his WIFE

Jay Leno filed a petition requesting a conservatorship over his wife Mavis Leno’s estate so that he can execute an estate plan on her behalf as she suffers from dementia. He wants to be appointed conservator “for the sole purpose of filing a petition for substituted judgment on her behalf in order to ensure her desires concerning the disposition of her assets upon her death are realized.” The couple have been married 44 years.

Shannen Doherty shared a positive health update with her fans among her battle with stage 4 breast cancer. The former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star discussed a new “miracle” cancer infusion treatment she’s been undergoing during an episode of her podcast. “After four treatments, we didn’t really see a difference and everybody wanted me to switch, and I just was like, ‘We’re gonna keep going with this and see,'” Doherty said on the podcast. “After the sixth, seventh treatment we really saw it breaking down the blood-brain barrier. Do I call that a miracle? Yeah. For me, that happens to be a miracle right now. “

PEDRO PASCAL opens SUNDANCE with FREAKY TALES

Pedro Pascal kicked off the Sundance film festival with his new movie Freaky Tales. The anthology film unfolds as a collection of stories, set in Oakland California. It also stars Jay Ellis, Normani, Dominique Thorne, Ben Mendelson, Ji-Young Yoo and the late Angus Cloud. The film was well received by the Sundance audience.   

 

TAYLOR SWIFT’S STALKER arrested AGAIN

Taylor Swift’s alleged stalker was arrested again. On Wednesday David Crowe was taken into custody for the third time in the last five days. During a  court hearing on Thursday, a temporary order of protection was issued, and a request for a 730 evaluation of Crowe was granted to determine whether he is mentally fit for trial. Along with stalking and harassment charges, Crowe was charged with contempt in the second degree for disobeying an order of protection, which was in place until July 25, 2024. He plead not guilty.

Daisy Ridley opened up about starring in the Star Wars franchise. Ridley played Rey in The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. She is reprising her role in an upcoming Star Wars movie. “So much has happened for me [since the Skywalker saga]. I feel like a grown-up now,” she said. “When I first started, I was, like, 20. I was the youngest on set. It took me the first two Star Wars films to feel worthy of being there,” Ridley told Variety. 

Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid are still going strong. The couple were spotted holding hands on a walk in London. Page Six posted photos of the pair walking as they chatted and smiled. At one point Hadid even put her hand on Cooper’s waist. They together were first linked in October. 

CHARLIE SHEEN will get sole custody of TWINS if EX FAILS DRUG TEST

According court documents Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife  Brooke Mueller recently agreed to a modified custody deal. The agreement came after she allegedly “relapsed and engaged in abusing alcohol and controlled substances” earlier in 2023. The order calls for the Two and Half Men star to get sole custody immediately “in the event Brooke tests positive for dugs or alcohol … or otherwise relapses” again. Mueller will have to test for drugs and alcohol within 24 hours of a written request from Charlie or his attorney, until their twin sons reach the age of 18 or graduate high school whichever is later.”  The former couple currently share joint custody but the twin’s primary residence is with Sheen.  

Sofia Vergara reportedly opened up about her split from Joe Manganiello. According to People the Modern Family star said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País,  that she and Manganiello disagreed about having children. “My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom,” Vergara  said. “I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore.” Vergara, has  an adult son Manolo, whom she shares with her first husband, Joe Gonzalez.
