LEGO introduces a Friends Central Perk Set for the 25th Anniversary!

It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Friends made its TV debut. A run of 10 seasons and 236 episodes earns a show a place in television history. It also earns that show a sweet commemorative Lego set.

Central Perk is a fantastic brick-built take on one of the show’s most iconic sets. It starts outside with the red and white striped awning and the big Central Perk logo on the window. Open up the double doors and there’s the stage where Phoebe belted out memorable tunes like Smelly Cat. The big, comfy, orange couch and coffee table the gang gathered around pops off easily for play or posing. Click it back on to its spot near the counter, where you’ll find Gunther waiting serve customers because neither Rachel or Joey was ever particularly good at it.

Central Perk goes on sale September 1st, and Lego has priced it at a very reasonable $59.99.

90’s kids get to ask that question again “ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?”

With TV reboots on a fever pitch nickelodeon has wasted no time bringing back it’s 90’s cult hit “Are You Afraid Of The Dark?”. With a recently dropped teaser trailer (below) it already has up ramped up with excitement. For those of you too young to remember the original Are You Afraid of the Dark? ran from 1990 to 1996 (it also got a brief second run from 1999 to 2000), and it centered on the Midnight Society, a group of kids who gathered around a campfire in the woods to tell each other scary stories. Some of the stories were weaker than others, but the show provided some memorable and frightening horror imagery for an entire generation, and helped serve as a stepping stone into more horror films and TV shows as that generation grew up.
