JUST on the heels of a similar Red Robin announcement (HERE), Burger King played a bit of a prank on loyal customers in St. Louis on April Fools’ Day, serving vegan Impossible Burgers inside BK’s Whopper. The result was unremarkable, in that people appeared not to even believe they’d been duped. If the Impossible Whopper is really JUST as delicious as the original, we are stoked to hear that Burger King is thinking of taking this gig on the road later this year and introducing the rest of the country to the Impossible possibilities.
Here’s a video of the BK “prank” in St. Louis:
And here’s a much more in-depth look from CNET at how Impossible Burger prepared the Burger King patties – and one reporter’s opinion on how they really taste:
Drew Barrymore Flower Home just launched at Walmart, and it’s a collection that’s “inspired by Drew’s personal travels and familiar places she holds dear,” according to the press release. The new home furnishings line has over 200 pieces ranging in price from $18 to $899. “I have always had a love for creating joyful spaces – places where unexpected prints and patterns, shapes and styles, and colors and textures come together in the most delightful way,” said Drew Barrymore. “My new collection of furniture and home décor is inspired by this passion and I hope it inspires everyone to make themselves at home.”
This brand new dining experience in Norway is going straight on the bucket list. Under is a restaurant located 5 meters below the sea, and it’s just beginning to open for reservations. The menu is set by the chef (meaning there’s nothing to order, everyone eats the same food), and it’s composed of “18 seasonally inspired delicacies.”

Under’s Head Chef Nicolai Ellitsgaard notes, “Just on the other side of our iconic window the ocean is bursting with fresh delicacies from the sea, so the journey from the kitchen to the plate is minimal.” The restaurant website’s FAQ page (here) suggests allowing about 4 HOURS (!!) for the full dining experience.

There’s no denying that David Bowie was one of the greatest musicians of all time, so it’s about damned time that one of the great sneaker makers built a few pairs worthy of his legacy. According to Esquire, the line will include four of “Vans’ most popular silhouettes, the Slip-On 47 V DX, Old Skool, Era, and Sk8-Hi, each customized in colorways inspired by some of Bowie’s most beloved albums—Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane, Space Oddity, and Diamond Dogs.” The Vans x David Bowie inspired collaboration will be launching in select Vans stores internationally on April 5th. So keep your eyes peeled and try and nab one or ALL of these incredible releases!

Red Robin is taking an impossible leap – into vegan fast food. Every location of the fast casual restaurant chain will be serving the Impossible Cheeseburger, which according to the press release will be an “Impossible patty, topped with Red Robin’s pickle relish, red onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and choice of cheese.” The Impossible Burger is a plant-based protein that mimics meat, and it’s growing in popularity. “Our fans expect variety, creativity and culinary innovation at Red Robin, so it was important for us to offer a plant-based option that appeals to traditional burger lovers, flexitarians and everyone craving a delicious burger,” said Jonathan Muhtar, executive vice president and chief concept officer at Red Robin. “The Impossible Cheeseburger is a high-quality offering our guests will love and marks a huge milestone for Red Robin.” Red Robin is also making the patties available for substitutions in their other meals too, so order it any way you like!

Delaware brewing company Dogfish Head has created a beer that will actually develop film. Called SuperEIGHT, the super Gose is brewed with eight refreshing ingredients: prickly pear, mango, boysenberry, blackberry, raspberry, elderberry, kiwi juices, and toasted quinoa. But it’s the brew’s pH that gives it its film-developing properties. According to Dogfish Head’s founder Sam Calagione, “We thought this beer could be the ultimate film developing catalyst. We tested it, lo and behold it is. So we are gonna be making a film this summer, submersing the Super 8 film from Kodak in the Super EIGHT beer from Dogfish and releasing it in partnership with the Nature Conservancy in the fall.” We figure we’ll leave the film developing to the pros, but we’ll definitely be looking for the beer in stores nationwide starting in April.
While most of us may remember AJ McLean as the Backstreet Boy with the pencil beards and soul patches in the aughts, we’re starting to see a different side to him with the release of a music video for his newest country single, “Boy and a Man.” According to Billboard, “The gorgeous Up inspired clip was filmed at Disney’s Golden Oak Ranch, and shows a couple as they fall in love from childhood all the way until death do them part. The video even features a cameo from McLean’s real life wife Rochelle McLean.” AJ is expected to release a full album this Spring, titled Long Road. Oh, and we’re loving that full beard too!
