There’s still time to chill in Lululemon’s pop-up library in NYC

Athleisure-wear company Lululemon has just opened a free pop-up shop in partnership with Penguin Random House. According to a press release emailed to Retail Dive, the pop-up library of more than 1,000 books is located “in Lululemon’s HUB Seventeen community space in New York City’s Flatiron building, where the athletic retailer currently hosts classes in adjoining studios.” The store, which is free and open to the public through Spring of 2019, allows for books to be checked out and includes comfy reading spaces for guests, as well as iPads to listen to audiobooks.

“Penguin Random House has an extraordinary list of published books that we wanted to bring directly to our Lululemon guest through this curated collection of lifestyle titles in an array of categories, including mindfulness, food, style and more,” said Meghan Chrisholm, a Lululemon spokesperson.

Netflix’s surprise super-hit “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” is finally getting a sequel! Though the rumors have been making the rounds since the flick premiered in August 2018 (after Jenny Han’s 2014 book of the same name), the news is finally official. Breakout stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo made the announcement on Instagram (in a dear-diary style, of course!), and please excuse us while we watch the original on repeat until this airs:

Otis Redding’s “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” turns 50 with a new video tribute

Princess Cruises teamed up with the Estate of Otis Redding to produce a new video to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Otis’ iconic hit “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay.” Filmed in port cities around the world – San Francisco, Los Angeles, Ft. Lauderdale, Hawaii, Jamaica and Barcelona – the video is an ode to both the song and the world’s oceans.

“We are so thrilled to get to share the fruits of this partnership with the world,” says Zelma Redding, president of the Otis Redding Foundation, and widow of Otis Redding. “This was a wonderful way to celebrate 50 years of “(Sittin’ On The) Dock Of The Bay,” and certainly an appropriate and heart-warming way to honor and remember the legacy of my husband.”

The video features an all-star cast, including Jack Johnson, Corinne Bailey Rae, Aloe Blacc, Dexter and Otis Redding III, James Gadson, Louis Mhlanga, the students from the Otis Redding Foundation Music Camp, Claire Finley, Irie Love, Mar Sanchez, and the Rass Brass Extension.

This emotional support chicken should pass even the most rigorous airline standards for acceptable in-cabin support. Starting today, travelers passing though Philadelphia International Airport can stop by Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Terminal C to get an “Emotional Support Chicken” carrier with their three-piece tenders combo meal.

We only wish Popeyes had rolled this out nationwide at their airport locations! It’s good for a tongue-in-cheeck laugh at a stressful time of the year, especially during holiday travel.

“We appreciate how comforting emotional support animals are and wanted to create our own version,” said Hope Diaz, CMO of Popeyes.

Moon Milk is 2018’s Instagram food superstar

Moon Milk is seemingly everywhere this year – especially if you’re tapped into social media sites like Instagram and Pinterest, where color is key. Moon Milk is a concoction of warm milk and adaptogenic herbs and spices like turmeric or Ashwagandha, along with pretty add-ins like rose petals or colorful fruits. The drink is sleep-inducing thanks to the cow’s milk which contains melatonin and the amino acid tryptophan, making it a gentle alternative to sleep medications. Here’s a recipe from Bon Appétit Magazine:

INGREDIENTS
1 cup whole milk or unsweetened nut milk (such as hemp, almond, or cashew)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground turmeric
¼ teaspoon ground ashwagandha (or another adaptogen, like shatavari or astralagus)
2 pinches of ground cardamom
Pinch of ground ginger (optional)
Pinch of ground nutmeg
Freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon virgin coconut oil or ghee
1 teaspoon honey, preferably raw

RECIPE PREPARATION
Bring milk to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk in cinnamon, turmeric, ashwagandha, cardamom, ginger, if using, and nutmeg; season with pepper. Whisk vigorously to incorporate any clumps. Add coconut oil, reduce heat to low, and continue to cook until warmed through, 5–10 minutes (the longer you go, the stronger the medicine). Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Stir in honey (you want to avoid cooking honey or you’ll destroy its healing goodness). Pour into a mug, drink warm, and climb right into bed.

Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini have been making the rounds promoting their upcoming movie “Second Act,” and showing off some serious BEST FRIEND GOALS vibes in the process. In this interview, Jen tries to answer the host’s questions while Leah chimes in from the sidelines to tease her bestie about who picks up the check, and whether Jen is a Charlotte or a Carrie (from Sex and the City). Jen gets in a zinger too, saying that Leah is a Samantha because she’s “the sl*tty one!” These two are hilarious together. First check out the interview here:

Sunglasses with Bose speakers built in?!

YUP! These shades are equipped with those same tiny speakers they used in BOSE neckwear, allowing it to pair with an audio source and pipe sound directly down your ears. Granted, it’s not as direct as earphones inserted into your ear canal or headphones covering your entire ear, but it does accomplish the job of letting you listen to music without tuning out the world at large.

The Bose Frames are real, functional sunglasses designed to shield your eyes from 99 percent of all UVA and UVB rays using uniformly tinted lenses. It comes in two styles, alto and rondo, with the former coming in the classic wayfarer style and the latter sporting the 60s-style clubmaster shape. Both models, by the way, sport scratch-resistant nylon rims, stainless steel hinges, and shatter-resistant lenses, so these should work just as good as any popular brands of sunglasses you wear. Of course, being a nice-looking pair of sunglasses just means you won’t mind wearing them – what makes these special are what the outfit adds to the erstwhile regular eyewear.

The Bose Frames can pair with any wireless music source over Bluetooth (30-foot range), so you can use it with your phone, tablet, or laptop in a straightforward manner. There’s an integrated mic, so you can use it to answer calls and send voice commands to your phone, as well as Bose AR support, so you can use it for the outfit’s audio-only augmented reality platform. Yeah, we have no idea what Bose AR is either, but if it ever becomes popular, you’re all ready to take part.

An onboard battery supplies power to the speakers for up to 3.5 hours of music streaming, after which you’ll need to plug it back in for two hours to get a full charge. Do note, they only have an IPX2 rating, so while they shouldn’t be damaged from sweat and sudden drizzles that take you by surprise, you’ll have to take them off in most situations where it’s going to be exposed to water, lest risk damaging the electronics. A single button on the right temple allows you to access all of the controls, from powering on and accepting calls to pausing a track and bringing up Siri.
