Chrissy Teigen is having a busy month, launching kitchen collection and cookbook

Social media goddess Chrissy Teigen launches a new kitchen collection at Target on September 30, and we’re already making space in our cabinets. “The collection features all of the essentials that Chrissy uses to prep, cook and serve up her favorite recipes,” according to Target’s press release. “Think do-it-all cast iron Dutch ovens and must-have serveware—plus items like cutlery, glassware and pitchers that are perfect for entertaining family and friends in A-list style.” At $140 for a 12-piece cookware set, the price is reasonable.

Chrissy’s book, “Cravings: Hungry for More,” goes on sale this month too, so the Target-exclusive edition will be in stores and online on September 18. “John tested absolutely every single dish,” Chrissy told Target about making the recipes in her new book for husband John Legend. “And there are many Luna-approved recipes (blueberry pancakes with cream cheese bombs, anyone?)”

Rihanna closed NYFW with an epic display

Rihanna held the final show at New York Fashion Week 2018 with her Savage x Fenty lingerie line, and her runway show was anything but typical. Models of diverse colors, shapes and sizes in strappy, colorful lingerie danced and interacted with their stage environment of a greenhouse covered in waterfalls and lush plant life.

Even Bella and Gigi Hadid were on hand to model the wares.

Walmart just opened its second grocery vending machine, and it’s the future

Walmart rolled out a grocery vending machine in Texas recently, which indicates that tests with the first of its kind (opened last year in Oklahoma) must have been successful.

For those who seek to minimize human interaction, this Walmart experiment is paving the path. The machines promise to retrieve a full grocery order in under a minute, and the service is free to customers with an order total over $30.

According to Business Insider, “Not only do customers not have to wait for an associate to bring them their order, but they also never need to set foot inside the store,” a Walmart spokesperson said. “The whole process can take less than a minute and we’ll be adding more pickup times soon to allow customers to pickup their orders anytime … day or night.”

NYFW’s Calvin Klein show drew quite a Hollywood crowd

New York Fashion Week has been in full swing for almost a week now, and comes to a close this Friday. These moments from yesterday’s Calvin Klein Spring 2019 runway show have been our favorites so far…

The 205W39NYC collection by Raf Simons celebrated the movie “Jaws,” with models rocking dripping-wet hair and wetsuits:

That handsome young man in the photo above is actually Ellery Walker Harper, who is Laura Dern and Ben Harper’s son. Here’s Laura at the show, casually hanging with A$AP Rocky and Gwendoline Christie:

The crowd made waves too. Rami Malek, Saoirse Ronan, and Jake Gyllenhaal are a fun-looking group:

This new Ziggy Stardust bar at London’s famed Café Royal exists to celebrate one legendary party

In 1973, David Bowie gave his final performance as Ziggy Stardust, and then threw such a raging after-party that we are still talking about it to this day. The retirement party was dubbed “The Last Supper,” and that seems fitting for how many big names attended: Mick Jagger, Lou Reed, Paul McCartney, Barbra Streisand, Sonny Bono… The list goes on. But those of us who WEREN’T (ahem) in attendance at the original bash can take in the experience at the new Ziggy’s cocktail room in the Hotel Café Royal in London. “Evocative of the spirit and splendour of this night, Ziggy’s pays homage to the late great Bowie, 45 years on,” says the website. “The cocktail list is an eclectic mix of classic cocktails reinvented and Bowie’s favoured tipples, all served with lots of glam and a sprinkling of rock n roll.” The bar also features a “curated gallery of intimate portraits of David Bowie by his long standing photographer and friend Mick Rock.” Ziggy’s opens September 20.

Wear a piece of Hollywood history

The iconic Hollywood sign we all know today was installed in 1978, but it was actually a replacement for the original which had been there since 1923. Now a fully funded Kickstarter campaign is underway for limited edition watches that feature antique metal from the 1923 Hollywood sign in the form of a metal plaque (engraved with an art deco H of course) at the 12 o’clock position. “The metal on each plaque has been treated to maintain the integrity of the authentic weathering of the sign, and hence, no two are identical! Each watch is inscribed with a limited-edition number on the case back.” The Hollywood Watch Company is offering 1,923 watches in size 43mm, and another 1,923 in 36mm. So if you’re interested in owning this particular piece of history, the Kickstarter pledge is apparently a 50% savings off the future retail price.

Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross just dropped a #couplegoals duet

Ashlee Simpson-Ross and her husband since 2014 Evan Ross (who is of course the son of legendary singer Diana Ross) have just released their very first duet called “I Do.” The song is slow and sweet, and according to a press release, the couple had this to say: “Music was always one of the things that connected us from the beginning. We liked our voices together, and as time went on, we thought it was something that we wanted to share. ‘I Do’ is our commitment to our music and each other.” Well that’s just #couplegoals right there.

“I Do” will also feature in the couple’s new E! reality TV series “Ashlee + Evan” on September 9. “The series will take viewers behind-the-scenes on their journey through love, making music and raising a family,” said the statement. “All roads lead to a duet album scheduled for this fall.”

Hershey’s and Reese’s whipped toppings. Yes, please.

Delicious junk food titans Kraft Heinz and The Hershey Company teamed up to create two new whipped cream masterpieces: Hershey’s Milk Chocolate & Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Dairy Whipped Toppings. According to the press release, “both whipped topping flavors are made with 100% real cream from cows not treated with rBST growth hormone, and without high-fructose corn syrup, oil ingredients, and artificial sweeteners or flavors.” The coveted cans will hit grocery stores nationwide in October, but some lucky shoppers have already scored the goods:

Mattel is releasing its $250 robot dinosaur in time for the holidays

Mattel is releasing a robotic Jurassic World toy before the holidays, and the buzz has already begun. According to the Amazon pre-order page, the Alpha Training Blue toy allows you to “train your own interactive dinosaur,” based on fan-favorite Velociraptor Blue from the “Jurassic World” franchise. “The accelerometer-equipped controller allows Blue to mimic movements. You can give her treats, reward Blue by petting her, and move her using responsive motion commands. As you train, you unlock levels and her behavior improves.” Based on the enthusiasm from reviewers like this one from CNET, Alpha Training Blue is taking an early lead as one of the hottest toys for holiday gift-giving:

You can pre-order for $249.99 on Amazon now for an anticipated October 1 release.

Dyson’s $500 hair dryer is made with real gold. Because of course it is.

Dyson’s newest luxury offering is a $500 Supersonic hair dryer, which is gold-plated with 23.75 karat gold thankyouverymuch. The gold leaf is “applied by hand using traditional gilding techniques,” on top of red paint matching the included case. “Through use, some of the red base color may become visible beneath through the gold. This is intentional and should not be considered a defect, but rather something that makes each hair dryer unique to its owner.” The new model is selling for a solid $100 more than its non-gold predecessor.
