Cher revealed plans to release an ABBA cover album

On the heels of her appearance in “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” Cher has announced that she’s already recorded an ABBA cover album. “After I did ‘Fernando’ [in the movie], I thought it would really be fun to do an album of ABBA songs,” Cher said in her interview with Kathie Lee Gifford on The Today Show. “So I did.” Cher also noted that her decision to do the Mamma Mia sequel was influenced by her love of the original. “I was a huge fan,” she said. “I saw the musical on Broadway three times and was dancing in the aisles with everybody.” Here are some clips from the new movie where you can hear bits of Cher’s now-famous rendition of the ABBA classic “Fernando”:

SDCC 2018: Ready Player One Experience

The Ready Player One Experience is underway at San Diego Comic-Con. According to the website, fans will “enter the virtual world of Ready Player One and experience the nostalgia of the 80s in this interactive, hyper-shareable, walkthrough activation. Test your knowledge of the film and 1980s trivia in two challenge rooms and explore the depths of The OASIS, including the haunted room 237 from The Shining! Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy and interact with nostalgic gaming stations, beautifully re-created ‘set’ environments, authentic film props and costumes and immersive in-world moments.”

SDCC 2018: Olivia Munn took home the IMDb STARmeter Award

IMDb’s founder and CEO, Col Needham, presented Olivia Munn with the IMDb “Fan Favorite” STARmeter Award at San Diego Comic-Con today. “Obviously since this is a fan-based award, it’s so exciting,” Olivia said when she accepted the honor at the third annual IMDboat event. “The fans have been everything to me.”

SDCC 2018: LAIKA LIVE and the magic of puppetry in film animations

Oscar-winning animation studio LAIKA is currently exhibiting at San Diego Comic-Con with LAIKA LIVE, a free installation allowing fans to check out props, puppets and film sets from “Coraline,” “ParaNorman,” “The Boxtrolls,” and “Kubo and the Two Strings.” According to the press release, “Curators will explain the magical process of LAIKA’s filmmaking as guests peek behind the curtain at one of the most imaginative film studios in the world.” Visit now through Sunday, July 22.

Countdown to Comic-Con: Bob’s Burgers x Shake Shack

“Bob’s Burgers” is taking over a Shake Shack and serving up the “Burger of the Day” to fans at San Diego Comic-Con. Accessible only by the official BOB’S BURGERS x SHAKE SHACK buses on an hourly, first-come basis, the event runs from 11am to 9pm on June 20. The press release suggests that, “a lucky few may even catch some BOB’S BURGERS voice talent at the Shack!” You can also see the “Bob’s Burgers” team on an official SDCC 2018 panel the same day at 4:15pm.

Countdown to Comic-Con: Sit in the Millennium Falcon cockpit

A life-size replica of the Millennium Falcon’s cockpit will be available for social media photo opportunities – FREE – at the Star Wars Pavilion at 2018 SDCC. The iconic ship’s interior is part of the traveling Millennium Falcon Experience and was “cast from the original set used for ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story,'” according to the press release. “The attention to detail is incredible, from seats to the lightspeed levers.” Atop the Millennium Falcon Experience at San Diego Comic-Con, look for six screen-used costumes from “Solo” – for characters Chewbacca, Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, Dryden Vos, Qi’ra, and Enfys Nest.

Fans can check out the first public demo build and booth for the “Ghostbusters World” augmented reality game at SDCC this year, at The Experience at Petco Park. According to the press release, “The game enables players to battle and capture hundreds of ghosts from all dimensions of the franchise, including the films, TV shows, comic books, theme parks, and video games.”

Countdown to Comic-Con: Adult Swim State Park

Adult Swim has a State Park planned for SDCC this year. “We’re building our own State Park and exposing you to all the nature you came to Comic-Con to avoid,” says the announcement. The offsite attraction will be located behind the convention center Thursday through Sunday. “Amenities of the park include all-new games like canoe races and archery contests, chainsaw-wielding wood carvers, merit badges and tasty eats from the hot dog roaster.”
