Rami Malek took home the award for best actor at the Academy Awards for his role as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. The new Oscar winner took a tumble from the stage after the ceremony had concluded. Paramedics were called to check on the actor but he appeared to be fine with no signs of injury.
Spike Lee won big on Sunday night. He took home his first competitive Oscar for best adapted screenplay for BlacKKKlansman. He gave an emotional acceptance speech and called on everyone to do the right thing. “The 2020 presidential election is around the corner. Let’s all mobilize. Let’s all be on the right side of history. Make the moral choice between love versus hate. Let’s do the right thing!” President Trump seemed to take Lee’s speech personally and tweeted that he did “ a racist hit on your President.”
Kevin Hart did not spend Sunday night hosting the Oscars so what do he do instead? The comedian chronicled his day on social media. He spent time with his children and his wife. Posting videos of his day including a boxing workout. The awards show went on without a host.
