Star Trek: Lower Decks star Dawnn Lewis paid tribute to Nichelle Nichols at SDCC 2022. Lewis who voices Captain Freeman on the animated series described finding out that she would part of beloved franchise. Lewis went on describe how Nichols inspired her and how she cried upon meeting her.
