RHOA star GREGG LEAKES dies of COLON CANCER

NeNe Leake’s husband Gregg Leakes died of colon cancer on Wednesday.  “Today, the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes,” the couple’s rep said in a press release. Leakes was 55-years-old and often appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta with his wife NeNe. 

Kristin Cavallari has a new man in her life. According to sources she is dating country singer Chase Rice. Both of them live in the Nashville area and have been spending time together for about a month. An insider told E! News that she has been to one of his shows already and”they’re having fun together.” 

The bad news continues for KISS. Gene Simmons has now tested positive for COVID-19 after Paul Stanley tested positive last week. The band announced Tuesday that they will cancel more shows as their entire crew will isolate at home for the next ten day. According to their website the band hopes to return to the stage on September 9th.

TOM CRUISE fought for VAL KILMER

Jerry Bruckheimer told People that Tom Cruise fought to make sure that Val Kilmer was part of the Top Gun sequel. “[Tom] said, ‘We have to have Val, we have to have him back. We have to have him in the film,’” Bruckheimer said. “And he was the driving force. We all wanted him, but Tom was really adamant that if he’s going to make another ‘Top Gun,’ Val had to be in it.” Specifics on Kilmer’s return as Iceman remain under wraps. 

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are officially empty nesters. The couple’s youngest child Joaquin is off to the University of Michigan. Ripa share a selfie of herself and her husband looking out of sorts. She captioned the photo, “”So far we are crushing this empty nest thing.” The couple have three children together. 

Ed Asner, who is best known for his portrayal of newsman Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and later on his own series, died on Sunday morning at the age of 91. According to his publicist he was surrounded by family in Los Angeles when he passed away. Asner won five of his seven Emmy Awards for playing Lou Grant. He also won Emmys for his work in the  mini-series “Rich Man, Poor Man” and  “Roots.” Asner is also known to a new generation of fans as Santa Claus in Elf and the voice of Carl Fredricksen in the film Up. RIP

KANYE WEST wants to change his name to YE

Kanye West wants to change his name. According to TMZ the rapper has filed legal documents to change his name from Kanye Omari West to just Ye, a nickname he’s been going by for years. West has not commented on the report.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds donated $40,000 to help Haiti recover from the recent devastating earthquake.  A spokesperson for the couple confirmed to E! News that they donated $10,000 to four different organizations to assist with the relief efforts. Hope for Haiti one of the charities thanked the couple for their donation on Instagram.

Jessica Chastain revealed that her role in the upcoming Tammy Faye biopic  permanently  damaged her skin. “I think for sure I’ve done some permanent damage to my skin on this. Listen, I eat very pure, and I take very good care of my skin and I stay out of the sun and all that stuff,” she told the Los Angeles Times. “But it’s heavy. And when you’re wearing it all day, every day — the weight of it on your body, it stretches your skin out. I finally took it off, and I was like, ‘I look 50 years old!’ No, I’m kidding. But it’s fine. It’s for my art.” Chastain plays fallen televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker in the film.

BEN AFFLECK sparks ENGAGEMENT RUMORS

Ben Affleck sparked engagement rumors on Monday. Affleck was spotted shopping at Tiffany’s on Monday with his Mom and his son, Samuel. Social media exploded with theories that he was shopping for Jennifer Lopez’s second engagement ring. Affleck gave Lopez a 6.1-carat pink diamond by Harry Winston that reportedly cost $2.5 million back in November 2002 when he popped the question.  

Tom Cruise landed in a helicopter in a family’s back yard in the U.K. after they were asked permission for an unnamed VIP because the nearby airport was closed. Alison Webb gave her permission and when the helicopter landed Tom Cruise who is currently filming Mission Impossible in Europe emerged. Cruise took time to meet Alison and her family and offered her children a ride in the helicopter while he went to a meeting. 

Jason Momoa responded to Dave Bautista’s tweet that the two of them should do “a Lethal Weapon type buddy cop movie.” When Momoa appeared on The Late Late Show on Monday James Corden asked about the idea. “I’m not on Twitter, but he literally texted me about four days ago,” Momoa said. “We love each other, you know, obviously we met on See, we’re on Dune together, so I said, ‘Absolutely.’ And he’s like, ‘Let’s do it in Hawaii.’ I’m like, ‘Let’s do it.”

 

TAYLOR SWIFT joined TIKTOK

Taylor Swift is officially on TikTok. In a video posted to her new account, Taylor is lip-synching  to Screwface Capital by British rapper Dave.  She captioned the clip, “Lots going on at the moment: Red (my version) vinyl is up for presale on my site and oh I’m on tiktok now, let the games begin. #SwiftTok.” The post already has over 50000 likes.

Eric Stonestreet is engaged to his girlfriend Lindsay Schweitzer. The Modern Family star announced the happy news on Instagram over the weekend. “She said, ‘She’d have her people call my people,'” Stonestreet captioned a trio of photos showing off her engagement ring. The pair have been dating for more than five years.

Mayim Bialik will host the weekday syndicated version of Jeopardy! temporarily due to Mike Richard’s departure. He stepped down just days after being named as Alex Trebek’s replacement. The Big Bang Theory star will be taping three weeks worth of the gameshow. As previously announced Bialik will host Jeopardy’s prime time specials and was the “top choice” to host the main show but she had scheduling conflicts.

 

ROLLING STONE DRUMMER CHARLIE WATTS dies at the age of 80

Rolling Stone drummer Charlie Watts died at the age of 80. Watt’s publicist, Bernard Doherty announced the news in a statement on Tuesday morning. “It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts. He passed away peacefully in a London hospital earlier today surrounded by his family. Charlie was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and also as a member of the Rolling Stones one of the greatest drummers of his generation.” The news comes after Watts underwent an undisclosed medical procedure earlier this month.

Charles Robert “Charlie” Watts was born in Bloomsbury, London, on June 2, 1941, and he started drumming around age 13. In 1961, Watts joined Alexis Korner’s Blues Incorporated, and a year later he met his future Stones bandmates, Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, Mick Jagger, and Keith Richards, in the London blues scene. In January 1963, Watts officially joined the Rolling Stones.

SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME TRAILER DROPS

Sony released the trailer for Spider-Man No Way Home on Monday after a version leaked on social media. The long awaited film stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man. The trailer presents Holland’s Peter Parker trying to erase reality with the help of Doctor Strange after Parker’s secret identity is found out. Strange, who is played by Benedict Cumberbatch, obliges but things go wrong. Before you know it, reality is broken. The film hits theaters on December 17th. 

KYLIE JENNER is PREGNANT with BABY #2

Kylie Jenner is reportedly pregnant. According to several outlets she is expecting her second child with Travis Scott. A source told TMZ that Kylie is still in the “very early stages” of the pregnancy and does not yet know the sex of the baby. The couple are already parents to 3-year-old Stormi.  

Angelina Jolie is officially on Instagram. Jolie is extremely private and has no public social media presence. Jolie joined the platform on Friday to draw attention to the situation in Afghanistan. She shared a letter she received from a teenage Afghan girl. “Before Taliban came in … we all had rights, we were able to defend our rights freely,” the letter reads. “But when they come, we are all afraid of them, and we think all our dreams are gone.”

Melissa Joan Hart revealed that she has contracted a breakthrough case of COVID-19. She shared the news on Instagram in a video, saying that she likely caught the respiratory virus from one of her children. “I am vaccinated and I got COVID, and it’s bad,” she told fans. “It’s weighing on my chest. It’s hard to breathe. One of my kids, I think, has it so far. I’m praying that the other ones are okay.”

ANTHONY MACKIE will suit up for CAPTAIN AMERICA 4

Anthony Mackie is set to suit up as Captain America for Marvel Studio’s Captain America 4. Mackie has starred as Sam Wilson aka the Falcon in 6 movies in the Marvel Universe  and the Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Chris Evans has previously carried the shield as Captain America. 

Scarlett Johansson and her husband Colin Jost have welcomed their first  child together. Jost shared the news on Instagram Wednesday.  “Ok ok we had a baby. His name is Cosmo. We love him very much,” he wrote. No details as to when the baby was born were shared.  Johansson is also a mom to her daughter Rose Dorothy , who turns 7 years old this fall.

Garth Brooks has canceled his stadium tour for the rest of 2021. “In July, I sincerely thought the pandemic was falling behind us. Now, watching this new wave, I realize we are still in the fight and I must do my part,”  the country music superstar said in a statement. Refunds will be offered on the approximately 350,000 tickets for the five canceled shows.
