For any of us children of the 80’s whenever we think about who was the best at getting out of unescapable situations only word comes to mind – MACGYVER! Well the fine folks over at Pressman are bringing one of our bucket list items (Be like MacGyver) to life with it’s new table top game MACGYVER: The Escape Room Game. The game is designed for two to four players coming together and cooperating to complete the final objective. Missions have an intermediate level of difficulty, so this should be fine to play for most school-age kids. The missions are supposedly based on actual MacGyver episodes, too, so you can relive the 80s classic all over again! Each game is designed to last between 30 to 40 minutes, too, so the entire box should make for around three or so hours of fun first-time gameplay.
MacGyver: The Escape Room Game is priced at $29.99 and you can pick one up AT THIS LINK HERE!

It’s neither a bicycle nor a tricycle. It’s a twicycle, which is a “bike that doubles cyclists’ workout by incorporating arm cranks in addition to regular ones.” The word crank really makes this activity sound exhausting, but that’s actually the point. “Twicycle is aimed at people who enjoy cycling, the outdoors and would like to workout their full body equally well including their arms, chest, and back.” Here’s an awesome video of a guy at Eurobike 2018 testing out the concept while smoking a cigarette. As he says, “Why not?”
Ellen DeGeneres has teamed up with Walmart to produce a women’s fashion line which aims to promote “great design, positivity and inclusion.” According to the press release, all September 10th launch items will be $30 or less and will come in a range of sizes. “We, along with Ellen, wanted to make a line that worked for everyone (EV1),” said Denise Incandela, Head of Fashion for Walmart eCommerce US. “Designed to be effortlessly stylish, EV1 was inspired by Ellen’s own confidence and optimism (think tees with inspirational sayings, elevated denim and, of course, fantastic sneakers).” Walmart will be selling EV1 online and in select stores, and will update the collection with seasonal items. “EV1 promotes kindness and love and diversity,” Ellen said. “We wanted it to appeal and be available to as many people as possible.”
Let’s take a quick time out to pay homage to movie’s rising sensation Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and some of his most epic falls in some of his biggest blockbusters. Video courtesy of the brainiacs over at Nerdist.

NBC’s “The Good Place” is breaking new ground. The show has been a critical darling for its first two seasons, earning praise for its originality, twists, and ability to balance philosophy with comedy. But especially in the age of show bingeing, a notable problem for networks is how to keep an audience engaged between seasons. It’s looking like “The Good Place” has started to break the code.

The second season of the TV show ended in February, and by the end of May, “The Good Place: The Podcast” had begun to air. The podcast is hosted by actor Marc Evan Jackson (who plays Shawn on the TV show), and has so far published 14 weekly episodes which have continued to grow in popularity. “Holy motherforking shirtballs!” announces the podcast page. “Subscribe and you’ll get weekly behind-the-scenes stories, episode and performance insights and funny anecdotes.”
Here’s a highlight from Chapter 1, part of a conversation with show creator Michael Schur, who is also known for his work on “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation,” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”:
“The Good Place” 1-hour premiere for season 3 is September 27.
Well folks, it’s officially Pumpkin Spice season. Okay, we know it’s only early August, and fall doesn’t officially start until September 22. But we don’t make the rules.
First, we know Starbucks is getting ready to drop that famous Pumpkin Spice Latte. “The original Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) is a fan-favorite handcrafted beverage that first launched in Starbucks stores 15 years ago and has since become Starbucks most popular seasonal beverage of all time,” according to a Starbucks press release.
And today brought official news of additions to the PSL Starbucks grocery offerings, which already include ground coffee, instant coffee, latte pods, and bottled lattes. “This year, two new products are available exclusively in grocery – Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Cookie Straws and Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Flavored Ground Coffee K-Cup® Pods.” Those cookie straws look legit though.
Then there’s the news brought by TODAY, which confirmed the rumors that Kellogg’s will release a Pumpkin Spice Frosted Flakes flavor this fall. So, really any day now. “New Kellogg’s Pumpkin Spice Frosted Flakes has a warm pumpkin spice frosting that coats golden, crunchy toasted flakes,” a representative from Kellogg’s told TODAY Food by email. “This tasty cereal has caramelized pumpkin aromatics delivering brown sweet cinnamon and a touch of allspice and cinnamon.”
And Captain Morgan sells a seasonal pumpkin spice rum, JACK-O’BLAST, in a pumpkin shaped bottle, which apparently “simulates the look of a carved pumpkin when illuminated under a black light.”
So basically we have our pumpkin spice breakfast, coffee, and adult beverages covered. If it wasn’t 2,000 degrees outside, we might be tempted to start thinking pumpkins. Give us some time, alright?
Rapper Missy Elliott started a media firestorm today when she posted a video to Twitter proclaiming, “wait I just found out I have a FUNKY WHITE SISTER.” What followed was a description of all the best parts of the video: “hold up she brought her homegirl to da cookout too” and “sis done made the elephant sound.” Finally, Missy Misdemeanor Elliott herself declares, “she straight up killed ‘Work it.'” Though we doubt that the four-time Grammy winner will be collaborating with her funky white sister anytime soon, Missy sure did help her go viral.
Though the original concept of MoviePass was liberating – see a movie a day for a low, flat fee per month – the recent changes have been intentionally limiting. For customers of MoviePass looking for an alternative, there are definitely other options.
Sinemia offers movie plans starting at $3.99 a month, and allows advance ticket purchases with no blackouts.
And if you have a favorite theater, brand-specific plans like the AMC Stubs A-List and the Cinemark Movie Club also offer alternatives to MoviePass.
