Quibi gears up to be the streaming service exclusively on your phone.

Well seems that Netflix, Hulu, HBO and the other slew of popular streaming services are going to have a new competitor on the block starting in 2 months with the release of Quibi, a new pay-for-streaming service with bite sized content only accessible on your mobile devices. Recently the company has been dropping trailers for their shows and they actually look quite interesting. Everything ranging from comedy, thrillers, reality tv and more. The catch with Quibi is the episodes of these shows fall around the 10 minute mark so they are small and consumable on the go. It will be interesting to see where Quibi falls in the streaming race but so far it has peaked my interest. Check out some of the show trailers below:

Hummer to make it’s return in 2020 as an electric SUV.

General Motor’s popular Hummer ended it’s run in 2010. However the rumor mill has appeared to be true with the return of the popular SUV coming this year. The twist? This time around it is returning in the form of  fully electric, zero emissions vehicle. The Super Bowl teaser commercial (to air Sunday) is giving us a little tease below:

The car itself will be unveiled on May 20. Production will be at GM’s Detroit Hamtramck assembly plant, where GM is creating an EV-only factory. A possible 2022 arrival was rumored in a Wall Street Journal report. That timing matches almost too well with Tesla’s first electric pickup, the Cybertruck.

Here comes the Super Bowl Commercials! MTN DEW and Bryan Cranston’s whacky love letter to “The Shining”.

MTN DEW® will showcase MTN DEW® Zero Sugar, the newest offering from the beverage brand, in a thirty second in-game advertisement during Super Bowl LIV on February 2. The television commercial kicks off an omni-channel marketing campaign that touts the tagline “As Good As the Original, Maybe Even Better,” and puts a twist on a scene from the classic Warner Bros. Pictures horror film, The Shining. The ad features actors, Bryan Cranston and Tracee Ellis Ross in a fun re-imagination of the famous “Here’s Johnny” scene from the film.

Basketball great Kobe Bryant dies in tragic helicopter crash.

It is with great sadness to report that basketball star Kobe Bryant has been pronounced dead in a helicopter crash that occurred earlier this morning in Calabasas California. Bryant was said to be traveling to his Basketball camp the “Mamba Academy” in Thousand Oaks with his daughter Gianna (13) and four other passengers. All aboard the helicopter have been reported dead. The story is still developing as authorities are on the scene of the accident. Hollywood TV sends our deepest condolences to Bryant’s family,  the LA Lakers Community and Bryant’s NBA peers. Bryant was a shinning star during his time in the NBA and earned his indelible top place on the Lakers during his time there winning 5 NBA championships. He will be sorely missed but never, ever forgotten. RIP Mamba.

Now your Apple Watch can get connected to your gym and earn you cool stuff!

The Apple Watch is a cool little wearable gizmo that has been all the craze for fitness enthusiasts since it debuted a few years back. It comes in handy for people wanting to track their levels of activity like running, walking, biking, rowing swimming and much more. The overall issue for sometime with these devices is their use of GPS when indoors at times, especially detection on some machines at your local gyms (like ellipticals for example). Apple over the iterations of the watch has taken steps to improve activity detection in a setting such as a local gym with the addition of GymKit in 2017 but just this week it’s been announced that another huge step has been made with Apple and partnering fitness facilities.

The new Apple Watch Connected program will launch with four Gym partners including Orangetheory, Basecamp, YMCA and Crunch Fitness. And like GymKit before it, there’s a pretty good chance it will take a while to make it to your neighborhood workout facility, unless you live in a handful of metro areas like Manhattan and the Twin Cities. The program is designed to further bridge the gap between life inside and outside of the gym. It includes GymKit-enabled equipment, an Apple Watch and iOS app, accepting Apple Pay and “incentive programs.”

Keep an eye out at your local gym in the near future for any type of integration to this new program. Sure makes getting an Apple Watch even more appealing if you are a gym head and love earning free stuff!
